Privacy and mark usage terms
Last updated: September 2026. This page covers two things: what we do with the information you give us, and the rules for using the Green Handshake mark.

Who we are
The Green Room Pact is an initiative of IMRO, the Irish Music Rights Organisation. IMRO is the data controller for information collected through this site. Contact: hello@greenroompact.ie.
What we collect
When you sign the Pact we collect your name, role or position, email address, the name of your venue, company or act, your town and county, and optionally the name of your sustainability lead.
Why we collect it
To review and countersign your commitment, to send you the toolkit and your signed charter, to publish your entry on the public register, and to contact you about the Pact. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in operating a voluntary public commitment scheme, and consent for the public listing.
How sign-ups are handled
Every sign-up is reviewed by a named person at IMRO before anything is published. Nothing appears on the public register automatically.
What we publish
Signing the Pact means your name, town and role are published on a public register on this site. That publication is the point of the scheme — it is what makes the commitment checkable. Your email address and any other contact details are never published. If you would rather not be listed publicly, do not submit the form; email us instead.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a signatory, and for two years afterwards for our records. Register entries are removed when a signatory withdraws or is removed. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Who else sees it
The site is hosted by Netlify, which also receives and stores sign-up form submissions (Netlify Forms). Netlify may process data outside the European Economic Area under standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties beyond that provider.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@greenroompact.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or tracking. It stores a single item in your browser to remember that the opening animation has already played, so you do not see it twice in one visit. That item is cleared when you close the tab, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is strictly necessary for how the page is presented. Because of that, no cookie consent banner is required.
Green Handshake mark usage terms
The Green Handshake is the mark of the Pact. These terms apply to every signatory who displays it.
- The mark is licensed, not given. It remains the property of IMRO.
- It may be used only by a current entry on the public register, and only in the role granted — Venue, Founding Venue, Artist, Promoter, or Crew and Production.
- It may not be altered. No recolouring, stretching, rotating, cropping, or removing the pill or the ring.
- It may not be used to imply certification, accreditation, audit, or endorsement of anything beyond the stated commitments.
- It may not be applied to merchandise for sale without written permission.
- On leaving the register, use stops within 30 days. Physical signage is removed and digital assets are taken down.
- The Founding Venue mark is awarded once and is not transferable if the venue changes ownership.
If a signatory is not honouring the Pact
Tell us at hello@greenroompact.ie. We will raise it with them directly. Where the mark is being misused, or where commitments are repeatedly unmet, a signatory can be removed from the register and asked to stop using the mark.
